The Wood Awards is the UK’s premier architecture and furniture competition celebrating excellence in design in the world’s most sustainable material. Now in its tenth year, the Wood Awards is the most respected award for building and design in wood. The Wood Awards was started in 1971 as the Carpenters’ Award and re-launched in 2003 as the Wood Awards. It is now Britain’s premier award for wood in buildings and furniture. The aim of the Wood Awards is to recognise, encourage and promote outstanding design, craftsmanship and installation in wood, the worlds most naturally sustainable material. The Wood Awards 2012 The sponsors of the Wood Awards include leading organisations involved in wood marketing and education in the UK. Canada Wood is the latest organisation to join the major sponsors of the Wood Awards, with the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), Carpenters’ Company and Wood for Good.
