Once again another Celeb has compared the world of horticulture to hard landscaping.....how dare they! quoted today in the Shropshire Star.
The TV, book deals and millions of pounds of sponsorship control what they say, one sided and unimaginative. It looks like the money has stopped and a new sponsor has jumped in..
For years Diarmuid has championed clear western red cedar decking and the Silva Timber company has no bounds of rewards of high sales due to this. Now " He’s pleased that the age of shiny stainless steel, bright blue fences and decking once embraced by TV shows has ended."
So what now, Diarmuid says instead of Simon! I certainly don't think the sales of fencing paint, decking or any other hard landscaping accountrements are going to suffer because of a few off the cuff statements.
Dont get me wrong here I am all for planting in gardens and I would consider a space not to be a garden wthout them but to simply cast off all elements of hard landscaping is a little shortsighted.
Are you affected by what the TV celebs are saying?
